Red Riders- Australia’s Best Kept Secret

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

There must be something in the water in Australia because most of my favorite new bands come from down under. You will be seeing a lot of Australian-related posts from me in the future simply because this is the hottest new location for great music. My latest obsession is the band Red Riders who are pretty well known in the Aussie indie rock scene (they have toured with The Shins, The Pretenders, Franz Ferdinand, and countless others on their native shores) but here in America, virtually no one knows who they are. I find this mind boggling since their accessible indie pop is some of the best I’ve heard in ages. Since the record isn’t out in the USA, I have resorted to illegally downloading most of the songs on their debut full length Replica Replica and all of the tracks I have are amazing. You can also buy their first EP, Plan A on USA iTunes.

Red Riders- My Love is Stronger Than Your Love

Take a listen on their Myspace and spread the word.
